Funding Your Happy Place

fund your happy place

For me, the sky is my happy place. There’s something about being above the world, looking down at the patchwork of land and sea, that brings a sense of peace and perspective. But finding that happy place—whether it’s in the air, on the ocean, or in a quiet corner with a good book—isn’t something that just happens. We have to be intentional about it.

Life has a way of pulling us in a hundred different directions. Work, responsibilities, and the never-ending to-do lists can make it easy to push aside the things that bring us joy. But here’s the thing—if we don’t make time for our happy place, who will?

Just like funding a business or a big project, we need to “fund” our happiness. That doesn’t always mean spending money; it means investing our time, energy, and mindset into making it happen. It means setting aside space in our schedules, protecting it fiercely, and recognizing that joy is just as important as productivity.

And here’s an even bigger idea—happiness is better when it’s shared. For me, that might mean taking someone flying. For you, it could be sharing a walk, a meal, or a conversation with someone who lifts you up. When we bring others into our happy place, joy multiplies.

So, where’s your happy place? And more importantly—how are you funding it?
